2024

As a first-generation student, I am aware of the difficulties and challenges involved in pursuing the path to a doctorate. For this reason, I presented a talk at my alma mater, the National University of San Marcos, in collaboration with its Institute of Applied Linguistics Research (CILA). In this talk, I shared my personal experience with the application process for pursuing a PhD program in the United States, with the goal of inspiring, guiding, and providing tools to students interested in following this academic path.

2024

My recent social responsibility work focuses on contributing to the development of the language policy of Afro-Bolivian Spanish (Nor Yungas, La Paz). For this, I am currently designing workshops on the development of educational materials in native languages and the development of the ethnographic interview as a collection tool in field work. The purpose of designing these workshops is to actively contribute to the planning of educational policy and the promotion of native languages.

2016

My social responsibility work focused on participating in workshops to prevent discrimination and promote indigenous language use. Thus, I have participated in workshops together with my literary colleague, Katherine Garriazo Mayhua, and Sembrando Lectores association, in Nomatsigenga schools on the Peruvian Amazon to encourage language use and the creation of children's literature in indigenous languages and Spanish.

Finally, I found it relevant to organize workshops for parents in the Nomatsigenga communities. These workshops addressed the linguistic reality in Peru, promoting the importance of using their languages and transmitting them to their children.
